It's cute, she likes it, and it makes nice colors (except red - the first time she saw that color she said, "it looks mad" and it does look a little demonic when it's on red). My 3 year old refuses to sleep in her own bed and we were finding her asleep on the couch every night. After we put the teddy bear in her bedroom that first night she didn't come out. So we decided to keep it and I'm glad we did. She has been sleeping in her own bed ever since. I really like the transition mode: the colors change gently and the glow is soft. The bright white is really bright and there is a mode where the colors transition suddenly but we don't use that one. My daughter plays catch with the bear, she taps it and squeezes it, and it always returns to it's normal shape. Even though we didn't receive the item we ordered, we're okay with that because ultimately the end result is my daughter sleeps through the night in her own bed. Overall, I’m very pleased with this nightlight. It seems to be fairly durable (my son has thrown it and stepped on it a few times already). I like how the light can be dimmed (though sometimes it is still a little too bright). The reason I gave it three stars is first, because the remote sometimes turns it on and sometimes doesn’t. It’ll turn it off every time, but I haven’t figured out the trick to have it turn on every time. Secondly, and most annoyingly, it is way too sensitive. If my daughter touches it, the color will change or it’ll turn off. If she sets it down on the floor, the color will change or it’ll turn off. If she has it in her bed and she rolls over, the color will change or it’ll turn off. Instead of helping her sleep, it keeps her awake because it gets off of the color or setting she chose. If it wasn’t for that, I’d really love this light! It’s cute, soft, and she loves it. If you’re willing to look past the flaws, it’s a great purchase. We purchased it for a nursery but our three year old loves coming in and changing the color of the light, so we have ordered a second one for him, as well. She utilizes the remote control on her own, which works very well. I love the dimness controls; there are a TON of different settings to control the dimness of the light. This is important, since my daughter sleeps with this near her pillow and I don't want a super bright light by her face when she's trying to fall asleep. The timer option works very well, and I'm able to have the light automatically shut off after 15, 30, or 45 minutes. This gives me peace of mind and helps preserve the battery.
